PEG-25 PABA

INCI: PEG-25 PABA | Function: UV Absorber (historical) | Type: PEG PABA

What Is PEG-25 PABA?

PEG-25 PABA is a polyethylene glycol derivative of para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), historically used as a UVB sunscreen filter. PABA was one of the first chemical sunscreen agents but has been largely discontinued due to issues with skin sensitization, allergic contact dermatitis, and fabric staining. PEG-25 PABA remains listed in some regulatory databases but is very rarely used in contemporary cosmetic formulations.
